About Broderick
Introduction
My name is Broderick Nixon. I was born with a condition called Cerebral palsy, which impacts movement and balance. Using a wheel chair has been a big part of my life growing up.
Dreaming BIG
Even with friends and family waving caution flags due to my disability, their skepticism lit a fire under me to prove that I could conquer any challenge I took on!
College and Beyond
During my childhood, I dreamt of attending college. I successfully graduated with high honors from Sam Houston State University in Texas. While in college, I started a motivational speaking business as I discovered that my journey and determination motivated others to chase their dreams.
Inspired
During my high school years, I discovered my passion for inspiring and empowering children with disabilities, much like myself. It was during this time that my friends included me in activities I never thought possible. At a graduation celebration with my younger brother and cousin, the idea to write motivational stories for children like us struck me. I cherish those memories dearly and aim to provide similar experiences and opportunities for children with disabilities. Through driving, attending college, forming lasting friendships, residing on campus, and ultimately graduating, I have now established my independence and run my own businesses.

Despite the physical challenges I face, I have found innovative ways to overcome obstacles, believing that everyone should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams, regardless of physical limitations. By sharing my story, I aim to break down barriers and inspire future generations of farmers and ranchers with disabilities.
Our Mission
Dreams to Actuality Ranch is driven by the mission "One Cow at A Time," focusing on running a Black Angus cattle ranch. The goal is to nurture and propagate Black Angus heifers to establish a herd of high-quality Black Angus cattle. This initiative aims to attract customers who seek to purchase cows and bulls directly from the ranch.

I hope to inspire others to chase their dreams relentlessly, to rise after every fall, and to believe in the boundless potential within themselves. Each step taken, no matter how small, brings us closer to our aspirations. Together, we can build a future where innovation thrives, kindness prevails, and the human spirit shines brightly. Let us commit to lifting each other up, celebrating our diverse strengths, and forging a path that future generations will be proud to follow.

Why did I create Broderick Bear?
My book teaches children that everyone is capable and can be included when they have the right tools and accommodations. By having my book in your schools, you will help children with disabilities see that they can overcome adversity and gain confidence in themselves. It will also help children without disabilities to see that their classmates with disabilities have the same desires and interests they do to play and be included.
My future vision for Broderick Bear is to showcase all his activities and abilities to children with disabilities. By doing so, children with disabilities can relate and realize that they are not so different from Broderick Bear, and they can achieve similar things.
